Marcus Davenport. 20. player. 50. . EDGE. UTSA

The Detroit Lions placed the franchise tag on pass-rusher Ezekiel Ansah, but they’d ideally like to get younger and cheaper at this spot, should no long-term deal come to fruition with Ansah.

Boston College’s Harold Landry could be the selection here, but the Lions elect to go with a bit safer a prospect in UTSA’s Marcus Davenport.

Davenport is raw and won’t come into the league having one of those oh-so special rookie seasons. But with Ansah aboard, Davenport won’t have to. He can hone his technique, develop his pass-rushing skill set and work towards being the eventual replacement Detroit needs for Ansah down the line.
