Austin Corbett, Nevada

6-foot-4, 305 pounds

Size isn’t as much a disadvantage for Nevada’s Austin Corbett, who displayed better speed than Colby Gossett — running a 5.15 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Corbett’s technique isn’t quite as refined as that of Daniels, especially for an interior lineman, which makes sense, as Corbett spent his collegiate years playing offensive tackle. He’ll have to bump inside at the NFL level to maximize his effectiveness.

Our old friend, Jerod Brown over at Niners Wire, broke down how Corbett could be a nice selection for the 49ers on draft day:

"Corbett has been a steady riser since moving inside to guard at the Senior Bowl. He was asked by teams to take snaps at center and played all over the line in an impressive showing. After walking on at Nevada, Corbett started all four years at tackle and demonstrated a smooth pass set. He has the size and strength of a starting-caliber guard. Corbett wins with a well-timed punch and football intelligence. He understands angles as a second-level blocker and plays well in space. The 49ers could grab Corbett at the back end of Round 2 and have a starting guard immediately."

Technique would be the biggest question mark, of course, but the raw abilities suggest he could emerge as a quality starter for quite some time.
