San Francisco 49ers: Day-two offensive guards to target in the 2018 NFL Draft

NC State’s Tony Adams may easily wind up being a day-three pick, as his NFLDraftScout.com profile lists him as a Round 6 prospect.

But if there’s a run on interior offensive lineman — particularly with the problematic O-line play the NFL endured last season — Adams could easily see his stock rise between now and draft day.
Adams would be more of a scheme fit for Kyle Shanahan, as his offense is predicated more on movement and speed than power moves. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein broke down how Adams can fit within an outside zone:
"Fluid skip-pull gets him down the line and looking for his target. Consistent finding his block and makes adjustment to find work if needed. Athletic fit for Wolfpack’s outside zone. First contact is always balanced. Plus body control. Able to connect and swing his hips into position to seal on outside zone. Scheme diverse fitting zone, gap or power blocking schemes."
Zierlein noted Adams’ technique issues, along with his less-than desirable height. But Adams drew comparisons to veteran offensive guard Josh Sitton, which is a good thing.
If San Francisco wanted to use one of its two Round 3 picks on Adams, especially if his stock rises, there should be few complaints.
