Wide Receiver

Right Wide Receiver: Pierre Garçon

Left Wide Receiver: Marquise Goodwin

Slot: Trent Taylor

So much for all that talk about the 49ers landing wide receivers Allen Robinson or Sammy Watkins in free agency.

Robinson joined the Chicago Bears, while Watkins is off to the Kansas City Chiefs.

And if you buy into 49ers.com’s Joe Fann’s argument about this position not being as pressing a need as many think, it makes sense why San Francisco didn’t make an aggressive move to land a receiver in free agency.

Keep in mind, Kyle Shanahan’s offense turned wideout Marquise Goodwin into nearly a 1,000-yard receiver in 2017. And while he’ll turn 32 years old by the time the regular season starts, fellow receiver Pierre Garçon was on pace to do the same before suffering a season-ending neck injury in Week 8.

One might expect the Niners to bring aboard another receiver, or two, via the NFL Draft. But they won’t make it a high priority.
