Loser: New York Jets

Welp, so much for the Jets being “all in” on the sweepstakes for quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Cousins heads to the Minnesota Vikings now, and New York is left scrambling to find someone to fill the void under center this season.

The fallback options? Re-signing 38-year-old veteran Josh McCown and bringing aboard former Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater.

Granted, McCown played well last season before landing on injured reserve late in the year. And Bridgewater, despite the horrific knee injury that derailed him for over a season, could provide some magic that made him such a prolific prospect out of Louisville. But that’s a big if.

No wonder both are just one-year deals.

Signing former Browns running back Isaiah Crowell to replace the now-retired Matt Forte is a nice move. But it’s offset by the huge amount of cash dished out to Trumaine Johnson.

The Jets may be moving in the right direction, but they won’t take a huge leap this year unless they hit some serious home runs in the 2018 NFL Draft.
