No. 1: Wide Receiver Allen Robinson

Wide receiver Allen Robinson is someone who won’t come cheap. This is a player who was one of the top wide receivers in the league two years ago before tearing his ACL in the 2017 season.

Even though he’s coming off a torn ACL, Robinson should still be able to run good routes and maintain his status as a premier red-zone threat. He has posted videos on Twitter of him rehabbing, which look good, displaying his mental drive to get back that explosiveness in his game. He also claimed that he will be back to 100 percent soon.

The 49ers desperately need a red-zone threat, and Robinson brings that to the table. However, he isn’t just a red-zone threat. He is a true No. 1 wide receiver. Robinson can run good routes to consistently create separation, make contested catches and has a deceptive quickness to his game.

However, most importantly, he has an alpha-dog mentality on the field, bringing toughness to opposing secondaries. With divisional rival Los Angeles Rams acquiring cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib in the offseason, the 49ers need a true No. 1 receiver that can bring that kind of toughness to these cornerbacks.

Next: 49ers sign Richard Sherman to three-year contract

If the 49ers sign Robinson in free agency, they might have one of the best offensive units in the league on paper. Combine that with Kyle Shanahan’s offensive system and a rapidly improving defense that just added Richard Sherman, and you have a formula for a championship-caliber team.
