2018 NFL offseason quarterback carousel: Predicting who goes where

Baker Mayfield
2017 Team: Oklahoma
For a long time, all signs pointed to the Giants being top suitors for UCLA’s Josh Rosen in Round 1 of the NFL Draft.
A poor combine, however, could easily have dropped Rosen’s stock. He may no longer be an easy choice within the top five.
Picking No. 3 overall, the Giants will look to land an heir apparent for Eli Manning. Considering the turmoil and consternation New York dealt with last season, it wouldn’t be a shock to see the Giants make a splash here.
They’ll need a big personality — someone capable of dealing with a big media market and not shying away from the pressure.
Such a name would be Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield.
Here’s this from Mayfield, courtesy of NorthJersey.com’s Andy Vasquez:
"When Mayfield was asked about being drafted by the Giants, and potentially playing behind Eli Manning during his rookie season, Mayfield made it clear that he would come in with the hope of trying to take the starting job from Manning. “First thing’s first, whatever team I go to I’m not going to settle for a backup job. I’ve never been like that. I never will,” Mayfield said. “I’m going to push that person in front of me. When it comes down to it, the best man’s going to win and I know that. But everybody has a role on the team. If you’re not improving and pushing the guys around you to get better then you’re not doing it right."
That kind of approach is exactly what the Giants need to set the tone for the future.
