2017 Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Who would have predicted quarterback Nick Foles, a forgotten-about backup, would rise to the rank of Super Bowl MVP after taking over for an injured Carson Wentz last season?

This does present something of a problem for the Philadelphia Eagles, although it’s a good problem to have. Fresh off the biggest game of his career, Foles’ stock will never get any higher. And with so many quarterback-needy teams looking for help, the Eagles can essentially set their asking price as high as they want.

Well, almost.

According to ESPN’s Tim McManus, the Eagles are asking for more than the first- and fourth-round picks they received from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for quarterback Sam Bradford prior to 2016.

No bites as of yet.

The Eagles can afford to demand high compensation. They also know having a competent backup can be crucial too, especially with Wentz coming off a late-season ACL injury. It’s anyone’s guess whether or not he’ll be 100 percent the time the 2018 regular season rolls around.

So, maybe keeping Foles in the fray isn’t such a bad idea after all.
