NFL Scouting Combine: Ranking the top 10 performers from 2018
No. 8: EDGE Harold Landry (Boston College)
Many people have often overlooked Boston College’s Harold Landry with most of the attention given toward top-10 prospect Bradley Chubb. However, that all changed following Landry’s superb outing at this year’s NFL combine.
Landry showed his speed by recording a 4.64 40-yard-dash time. The 6-foot-3 and 252-pound edge rusher also impressed scouts with his 36-inch vertical and 119-inch broad jump.
Though, the most outstanding numbers Landry posted are from his drills. Landry finished the 3-cone drill in 6.88 seconds and the 20-yard shuttle and 60-yard shuttle in 4.19 seconds and 11.35 seconds, respectively.
In comparison to many other defensive linemen, Landry’s numbers are nothing but elite. Landry proved his superior athleticism and edge rushing skills especially with his remarkable performance in the drills.
With his optimal results at the combine, Landry made his case as a first-round talent in this year’s draft. His unique blend of strength and quickness should allow him to successfully penetrate through some of the NFL’s toughest offensive lines and get to the quarterback.
