Rashaan Evans, Alabama

At 6-foot-3, weighing in at a firm 232 pounds, Rashaan Evans of Alabama is an absolute monster.

Alabama players coached by Nick Saban are always NFL ready, Evans is a day-one starter.

Evans natural position is the WILL backer in Robert Saleh’s 4-3 scheme. However, Evans can easily move inside to MIKE, a position that may be vacated for a while, should Reuben Foster feel some sort of punishment by both the 49ers and the NFL.

Evans would not be a stopgap option for the Niners, instead he could takeover for Malcolm Smith once his days are over in San Francisco. Or maintain the MIKE, should the 49ers release or cut Foster.

Either way, there would be a home for Evans in Santa Clara.

What’s intriguing about Evans is his ability to take on blockers head on without much difficulty. He doesn’t get washed, and he scrapes the line of scrimmage always looking for the ball carrier. And in the NFL, guys like Evans are in serious demand to stop the run game.

Evans is my guy. I would take him over Roquan Smith in a New York minute.
