The Washington Redskins have to be thrilled standout Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick fell this deep in Round 1.
Safety is one of the bigger needs the Redskins have entering this offseason, and Fitzpatrick has the ability to lock down the last line of defense but also the coverage abilities to handle wide receivers and tight ends all over the field.
Fitzpatrick has drawn comparisons to the Arizona Cardinals Tyrann Mathieu, and Washington could stand to add a big-time playmaker on defense when they have to face high-profile offenses like those of the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys twice a year.
