No. 2: Sign Wide Receiver Allen Robinson Away from Jacksonville

This one seems like a longshot. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Jags are turning their latest attention to wide receiver Allen Robinson in the wake of the extension given to quarterback Blake Bortles:

But if the Jags can’t find a way to bring Robinson back, the 49ers should pounce. Robinson has had terrible quarterback play the past two seasons, and in 2017 he missed all but the opening week with a left ACL tear. In 2015, though, Robinson amassed 80 receptions for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Robinson could be in store for a bounce-back season, especially with 49ers franchise signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo throwing him the ball. Robinson also fills the Niners’ need for a red-zone threat with his 22 career touchdowns. After playing in only 10 games as a rookie, a season in which Robinson caught just two touchdown receptions, Robinson caught 20 touchdowns over the course of 2015 and 2016 for an average of 10 touchdowns per year.

Double-digit touchdowns wouldn’t be a bad thing to bring to the 49ers offense.

The Jags don’t have much cap room and they also have wide receiver Allen Hurns under contract until 2020. Rookie wideouts DeDe Westbrook and Keelan Cole performed well too, so the Jags should move on, giving the 49ers their opportunity at a true No. 1 receiver.
