No. 3: Wide Receiver Aldrick Robinson

I was excited when Aldrick Robinson was signed last year in free agency. He had shone in the limited amount of snaps he was given during his time in Kyle Shanahan’s system in Atlanta — not to mention he was a player dug far behind a very talented receiver depth chart consisting of Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Taylor Gabriel. I thought that he was a player with a sky-high ceiling and an enormous amount of potential.

However, Robinson was ultimately a disappointment in his debut season for the 49ers. He constantly dropped passes, struggled to create separation from defensive secondaries and was ultimately unreliable, earning a poor 46.9 PFF grade on the way.

The 49ers’ starting receivers Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin and Trent Taylor all impressed in the 2017 season and were noticeably better than Robinson by a large margin.

With the team looking to add another receiver in the offseason to make things easier for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, Robinson is bound to be cut.
