49ers NFL Draft needs: 2018 wide receiver big board
No. 6: Jordan Lasley (UCLA)
UCLA’s Jordan Lasley is one of the more explosive wide receivers out of the entire 2018 draft prospects. Lasley stood out with his two incredible performances against USC and California toward the end of the 2017 season.
Lasley recorded 431 yards and scored four touchdowns during those two critical games. The Bruins star receiver finished the season with 1,264 yards and nine touchdowns despite missing four games due to injury.
With his impressive numbers, Lasley’s talent on the field is undeniable. His speed and ability to run after the catch are some qualities that would make him succeed in the NFL, along with his decent route running.
However, Lasley’s lack of discipline may tremendously hurt his draft stock according to DraftBlaster. As a result, Lasley is only projected to be drafted between the third and fifth round.
If he matures enough heading into the next level, Lasley has the potential to become a star in the league. Lasley’s catching abilities and explosiveness are difficult to ignore, making him valuable to any NFL team barring his off-the-field issues.
