No. 7: Simmie Cobbs Jr. (Indiana)

After missing the entire 2016 season due to an ankle injury, Indiana’s Simmie Cobbs Jr. had a phenomenal comeback year in 2017.

The 6-foot-4 and 220-pound receiver managed to accumulate 841 yards and eight touchdowns during his senior year. Cobbs’ best game of the season was against Ohio State on Aug. 31, 2017 in which he recorded 149 receiving yards and a touchdown:

With his big frame, Cobbs could be an automatic red-zone threat for any team in the NFL. According to Draftwire, Cobbs’ physicality would be unfavorable for opposing defenses and his catching ability is one of the best in this year’s draft class.

Cobbs has also showcased his astounding playmaking skills, including a one-handed catch against Ohio State in 2017.

Some concern about Cobbs’ top speed and quickness has been arising, however, which likely explains his low draft projection. Cobbs is projected to be a late first rounder to a third-round pick.

Although, in the event that Hoosiers wideout falls on the 49ers hands during the draft, it would still be difficult to pass on such a talented receiver as Cobbs.
