49. . . Previous: . Green Bay Packers. 12. team

The Green Bay Packers jump up a lot in our NFL power rankings, and for one main reason — quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers is one of those elite QBs, obviously, the kind capable of carrying an entire team on his shoulders. His collarbone injury in 2017 revealed what kind of team Green Bay would be without his services.

In other words, not very good.

Smart move to re-sign wide receiver Davante Adams. He’s the player to watch as Rodgers’ favorite receiving target, especially with the veteran, Jordy Nelson, seemingly winding down.

While it might not be an issue in 2018, Rodgers is vastly underpaid and will receive just $19.8 million in guaranteed money this year. A new contract is likely going to be in place after this upcoming season, which could put the Packers into a pretty precarious spot.

At least for now, Green Bay is right back in the mix where it should be.
