Cincinnati Bengals. 24. team. 56. . . Previous:

Why did the Cincinnati Bengals elect to keep head coach Marvin Lewis around again?

Well, there’s your rationale for dropping the Bengals down in NFL power rankings to hit the offseason. This team needed a complete rethink from top to bottom, and it should have started with Lewis.

Roster-wise, that might end up taking place this offseason. There were rumblings wide receiver A.J. Green was unhappy with the direction of the team. And there’s a general lack of identity on both sides of the ball.

Cincinnati is closing in on nearly $40 million in cap space, so they have some moves to make if they want to. And they’ll have the No. 12 overall pick in the NFL Draft too. So there are options to try to build in a new face to this franchise if that winds up being the direction chosen.

Still, it appears as if this Bengals team is doing little more than treading water right now.
