No. 3: Pierre Garçon’s Toe-Drag Reception on Thursday Night Football
When it happened: Week 3 vs. Los Angeles Rams
This is, perhaps, the prettiest and most amazing catch the 49ers enjoyed all season.
Wide receiver Pierre Garçon had himself a game in Week 3 versus the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football, hauling in seven catches for a 142 yards.
Mixed in there were a number of tough, physical catches that only added to Garçon’s legacy.
But this one, on a 1st-and-10 play from the Niners 25-yard line was pretty special:
The initial call, despite the catch, seemed to indicate Garçon didn’t get both feet in.
But head coach Kyle Shanahan ended up challenging the call, and it was overturned. What a catch!
San Francisco eventually lost the 41-39 thriller, but this play was certainly one of the most amazing ones we saw in 2017.
