Linebacker Aaron Lynch

Surprise, surprise, but 49ers linebacker Aaron Lynch wasn’t active in Week 16.

Last Sunday marked the ninth time Lynch wasn’t active for a contest, and many of those have been healthy scratches.

It appears as if Lynch has fallen out of favor with the Niners new regime, especially after weight issues and ongoing injuries cast doubts over his ability to contribute during training camp. Over his limited time on the field this season, Lynch has just five tackles and one sack in five games played.

He’ll be a free agent this offseason, and there doesn’t appear to be any desire the 49ers have to bring him back.
