Quarterback Eli Manning made his return back to a starting role, following the New York Giants’ firing of both head coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese.

While Manning received a standing ovation during the Giants’ home game against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium, his on-field efforts did next to nothing to avoid yet another loss in what has been a disastrous year for New York.

Manning had one touchdown against two interceptions, and the Giants couldn’t overcome two costly turnovers that helped give Dallas the 30-10 win.

Running back Wayne Gallman and tight end Evan Engram may be the only offensive players worth watching down the stretch. At least they’re interesting.

Biggest Question

Manning’s relationship with the Giants was strained but not broken. Still, he’s 36 years old and no longer capable of putting the team on his shoulders. There’s going to be a point, soon, where New York has to consider its future.

Armed with a high pick in the NFL Draft, it could be as early as this offseason.
