Believe it or not, the Seahawks would be out of the playoffs this year if the postseason was to start now.

It’s hard to fathom, given how used we’ve become to seeing head coach Pete Carroll and Co. deep into January. But that’s the case.

The Seahawks failed to gain ground on the Los Angeles Rams, who lost the Eagles in Week 14, after falling on the road to a tough Jaguars defense. Despite three passing touchdowns allowed, that same Jags defense made life tough on Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, also forcing him to throw three key interceptions during the game.

Despite a frantic comeback in the fourth quarter, Seattle couldn’t pull off the comeback. And a number of players didn’t take kindly to it.

Two of the Seahawks players, including defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson, were ejected late. Then there was defensive end Michael Bennett tried a cheap-shot move when Jacksonville was in victory formation:

Don’t even get us started with fellow DE Quinton Jefferson.

Biggest Question

If there’s good news for Seattle, the team is still just one game behind the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West and has the tie-breaker from its Week 5 victory over L.A. These two teams square off again in Week 15, so can the Seahawks get their collective heads back on straight?
