That was a pretty gutsy effort by Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford who, despite playing with an injured hand and tossing two interceptions, still managed to find a way to pass for 381 yards and a crucial second-quarter touchdown to wide receiver Golden Tate.

Tate made a huge difference, but tight end Eric Ebron was the biggest impact player for Detroit. His 94 receiving yards led the offense to a narrow win over the struggling Buccaneers.

The Lions’ slim playoff hopes stayed alive with the victory, although there are still major issues in the running game and Detroit was the beneficiary of plenty of Tampa Bay mistakes.

Detroit won’t be as lucky down the remaining stretch, and it’s going to be tough to make the postseason.

Biggest Question

The Lions need to be more balanced on offense, which points to grabbing a running back this offseason. How they go about doing this is anyone’s guess, but that would take a huge load off Stafford’s shoulders.

And his hand too, we guess.
