The Los Angeles Rams placed the franchise tag on No. 1 cornerback Trumaine Johnson during the offseason. And his 2017 campaign has been something of a disappointment anyway, as his 48.6 overall Pro Football Focus grade suggests.

An educated guess has Johnson and the Rams parting ways this offseason, meaning another cornerback will be needed for coordinator Wade Phillips’ defense.

L.A. could use some linebacker help too, although that’s nowhere as big a need as at cornerback.

With a true shutdown defensive back, the Rams can improve even more on what has already been a stellar season.
