49ers Offensive Line

Getting left tackle Joe Staley (eye) back into the mix was key, especially after the 49ers came off a game against the Cardinals in which they allowed five sacks and 16 quarterback hits.

Granted, the Giants pass rush and run defense is nowhere near that of Arizona. But it’s safe to say San Francisco’s offensive line performed much better in Week 10.

A week after taking those five sacks, quarterback C.J. Beathard wasn’t taken down at all versus New York, and he only suffered two QB hits. For the most part, he had more than enough time within the pocket to make some big throws.

Additionally, the Niners O-line opened up lanes for running backs Carlos Hyde and Matt Breida to good effect. Hyde had 98 yards on the ground, while Breida added another 55 of his own plus a touchdown.
