Quarterback C.J. Beathard

No kidding, C.J. Beathard had his best day as a pro on Sunday.

Beathard’s line was 19-of-25 passing for 288 yards and two touchdowns against one interception. This amounted to a passer rating of 123.4 — commendable, considering his previous high was 76.1 back in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.

But the numbers don’t just stop there. The rookie quarterback managed to rush for an 11-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter:

Head coach Kyle Shanahan later informed the press Beathard injured his thumb during the game but is expected to be back after the bye week.

In the meantime, Shanahan’s decision to make the switch from Beathard to the newly acquired Jimmy Garoppolo doesn’t seem quite as easy.
