Sit-em: Andy Dalton (CIN) @ Jacksonville

The Red Rifle has not been firing at all this season. Any quarterback would love to throw to wide receiver A.J. Green, but Andy Dalton has not been able to find him or any other target consistently.

The season started off dreadfully for the Bengals offense and Dalton, to say the least. The team did not score a touchdown until well into Week 3. It hasn’t gotten much better since then.

Dalton only has one game with over 300 yards this season. Prior seasons would’ve seen Dalton hitting that number of yards every week, and it’s left fantasy football owners confused.

To add to the offensive struggle this week, they have to go up against one of the toughest defenses in the NFL. Jacksonville announced themselves as a defensive force early this season. In Week 1, the Jaguars recorded 10 sacks and haven’t slowed down since.

The Bengals have become a one-dimensional offense. Even though they drafted Joe Mixon early in this season’s draft, they have not run the ball well at all. Teams are taking advantage of a very weak offensive line and a predictable offensive scheme.

Dalton has been on the ground a lot this season. Week 9 is going to be even worse. The Jaguars are not going to give him any time to throw. I could see Dalton throwing multiple interceptions and going under 300 yards yet again this week. Avoid him if you can in fantasy football with this short slate of games in Week 9.
