San Francisco 49ers: 10 players who should see more playing time over the rest of 2017

No. 9: Offensive Lineman Erik Magnuson

Before the season began, I noted undrafted free-agent offensive lineman Erik Magnuson could be a player the Niners may consider as a right-away starter.

Magnuson has the flexibility to play all three interior offensive line positions, which is a boost since the majority of San Francisco’s O-line issues have centered on these three spots.

Granted, moments like the one below (h/t KNBR 680’s Kevin Frandsen) aren’t good looks:

Regardless, the 49ers should at least give Magnuson a chance to see if he’s worth continued development.

They might not have a choice anyway. With left tackle Joe Staley (eye) out for a while, swing tackle Garry Gilliam (knee) on injured reserve and right guard Brandon Fusco (bicep) banged up, Magnuson could be forced into the O-line picture for the foreseeable future.
