Cornerback Trumaine Johnson, playing on a franchise tag, is likely headed elsewhere this offseason, meaning the upstart Los Angeles Rams are going to need another defensive back early.

Florida State’s Tarvarus McFadden is a perfect fit in the NFC West. At 6-foot-2 and 198 pounds, the ballhawking corner has the range to keep up with big-bodied receivers at the pro level. With some work, he shouldn’t have any issue developing into a shutdown corner, which would allow L.A.’s potent front seven to do its work.

Getting McFadden at this point in the NFL Draft would be an absolute steal for the Rams.
