Fantasy football: Start-em, sit-em players for Week 7
By Jay Marsdale
Sit-em: Keenan Allen (LAC) vs. Denver
Any receiver against Denver is on my sit-em list at this point. They are called the “no fly zone” for a reason, and Keenan Allen is going to find that out this weekend.
Allen is getting a great amount of targets in the Chargers pass-heavy offense each week. However, he is not converting those targets into catches this year. Allen is only catching around 54 percent of the passes thrown his way this season. That does not bode well for Allen fantasy football owners going into a though matchup.
Allen is also reliant on those catches to accumulate fantasy football points. He only has one touchdown this season and it came all the way back in Week 1. There is a lot working against Allen in Week 7, and I don’t think he can overcome it all.
Philip Rivers is going to be running away from Von Miller and the Denver defense all game. Allen and the other Chargers receivers aren’t going to be able to make big plays down field, which also hurts their fantasy football value in Week 7. The Denver defense is one to avoid every week in fantasy football, and it is making me sit a very good receiver in Allen this week.
Other options: Doug Baldwin (SEA) @ New York Giants and Jordy Nelson (GB) vs. New Orleans
