Fantasy football: Start-em, sit-em players for Week 7
By Jay Marsdale
Sit-em: Jordan Howard (CHI) vs. Carolina
Both running games in this Carolina versus Chicago matchup make this week’s list. Jordan Howard had impressive stats last game, but they were a little deceptive when you look into them deeper.
Howard ran for 167 yards in Week 6, but it took him 36 rushes to get those numbers. That is an unsustainable amount of rushing attempts. They are trying to work in rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky slowly, but last week was a bit extreme.
If they come out this week with the same game plan, Carolina will be ready to stuff the run. The Panthers and head coach Ron Rivera are going to make Trubisky beat them through the air. And if you take into account that the Bears will most likely be trailing in this game, they are going to throw it.
The running back to use in the Chicago backfield this weekend in fantasy football is Tarik Cohen. Howard has only 11 catches through six games and that can limit his value in high-scoring, pass-happy games. Howard is still the best runner on the Bears roster, but this matchup and set of circumstances may not be favorable for fantasy football owners this week.
Other options: Adrian Peterson (ARI) @ Los Angeles Rams and Carlos Hyde (SF) vs. Dallas
