87. . 4-2. . Carolina Panthers. 10. team

Just when you think the Carolina Panthers have figured everything out, they wind up losing at home 28-23 to the Philadelphia Eagles in prime-time on Thursday Night Football.

Granted, the Eagles are good this season. Really good. But we’d figure a weak Philadelphia secondary would provide the perfect scenario for quarterback Cam Newton to carve up an opposing defense.

Yeah, that didn’t happen.

Newton was flat-out ugly in Week 6, tossing three interceptions en route to a lowly 48.5 passer rating. And outside of the quarterback’s own rushing efforts, what’s happened to the once-dominant ground attack from offensive coordinator Mike Shula?

At least the Panthers will have a chance to regain momentum with two winnable matchups against the Bears and Buccaneers in Weeks 7 and 8, respectively.
