One might have expected the Redskins, coming off a bye week, to handle the winless 49ers in Week 6.

But, as the final 26-24 score tells you, this wasn’t exactly the case.

In what might have been viewed as an audition for Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan, Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins managed to toss two touchdowns against one interception for a passer rating of 102.3. That’s exactly the problem, though, as the numbers don’t show the numerous inaccurate passes Cousins tossed nor the number of times his receiving targets bailed him out.

Regardless, the Redskins managed to get out to a 17-point lead early before holding on as San Francisco staged a valiant comeback.

No change in NFL power rankings this week, as the style points are low.
