Safety Jaquiski Tartt

Physique-wise, Jaquiski Tartt is certainly a natural fit at strong safety.

And while the first two years at the pro level weren’t exactly noteworthy for the former second-round pickup, Tartt is surely blossoming in this new role under defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.

Tartt’s six tackles from Week 6 were tied for fifth on San Francisco’s defense, and this tackle for a loss against Redskins receiver Jordan Reed shows how Tartt is thriving in an in-the-box role:

Tartt suffered a knee injury late in the game, so we’ll have to keep an eye on that. But all signs are pointing to him being a key player for San Francisco’s rebuild.
