NFL power rankings: Chiefs stay hot in Week 6, 49ers stay low

At this point, we just have to accept the Seahawks offense isn’t going to carry this team into the postseason.
No, that responsibility relies solely on the defense, and this unit was more than up to the task in its efforts to shut down the Rams’ suddenly explosive offense in Week 5.
The Rams managed 375 all-purpose yards and were a respectful 8-of-15 on third downs. Yet Seattle forced five critical turnovers, essentially putting the game in the Seahawks’ favor.
As we saw with the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50, elite-level defenses can win championships, and the Seahawks defense still classifies as such.
And it’s a good thing Seattle plays in the lowly NFC West, making this divisional bout a key victory for head coach Pete Carroll.
