NFL power rankings: Week 5 sees 49ers stay low, a new team at No. 1

The Packers may have some question marks on defense and within their offensive line, but their 35-14 dominant victory over the Bears on Thursday Night Football is just what we’d expect from quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Co.
Rodgers was his masterful self, throwing four touchdowns against zero interceptions on a cold, stormy Green Bay night. And it’s good to know running back Ty Montgomery (ribs) is only day to day.
As long as Rodgers is able to continue his chemistry with wide receiver Jordy Nelson — no reason to assume he can’t — the Packers offense will remain a serious threat.
Heck, this would be the case without Nelson, although he certainly makes Green Bay’s offense better.
The Packers climb a couple of spots in our NFL power rankings this week, and they should be well rested ahead of their featured matchup against the Cowboys in Week 5.
That should be fun to watch.
