NFL power rankings: Week 5 sees 49ers stay low, a new team at No. 1
By Peter Panacy
The Seahawks should have won big at home over the Colts in Week 4, and that’s exactly what happened in the 46-18 rout.
San Francisco 49ers
Keep in mind, though, the Seahawks were trailing 15-10 at the half, and their offensive line continues to be a major problem. Quarterback Russell Wilson’s ability to elude pressure, even against bad pass rushes, is the only thing saving Seattle’s offense from a complete shutdown.
Wilson was sacked three times and tossed two interceptions. But his big-play capabilities also resulted in 295 yards and two touchdowns.
We’ll see if that offensive magic can continue, but everyone knows the Seahawks defense will be the primary reason the team stays in playoff contention after a sluggish start to 2017.
This group’s job wasn’t too tough, especially with quarterback Andrew Luck (shoulder) out for the Colts.
Overall, Indianapolis gained just 237 all-purpose yards — not exactly a surprise for struggling opponents at CenturyLink Field.
Things get interested in Week 5, however, as the Seahawks travel to take on the upstart Rams in a battle to determine mastery of the NFC West.
