Sit-em: Cam Newton (CAR) @ New England

This is not the same Cam Newton that led the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl just a few short years ago. He looks nothing like that player and his stats are showing that. If you drafted Newton for your fantasy football team, it may be time to start looking for a replacement.

By no means should you drop Newton yet. However, this week is going to be another tough one for him to be your starting quarterback in fantasy. Newton has stopped running the ball altogether. That’s what made him such a dynamic player to begin with, and he only has 46 yards rushing yards this season. That would’ve been a typical Sunday for Newton in years prior, but not anymore.

Without his legs adding fantasy value like they used to, he has become a pocket passer and not a very good one. Last week he gave up three interceptions to the very poor New Orleans Saints defense to prove it. And this week he goes against the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick.

Avoid him at all costs.

Newton also lost his top receiving target in Greg Olsen for multiple weeks. His situation looks to get a lot worse before it gets better. Wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is not the player they drafted him to be right now, and rookie running back Christian McCaffrey is still finding his role on the team. The Carolina offense, as a whole, is one to avoid in fantasy football until further notice.

Other options: Dak Prescott (DAL) vs. Los Angeles Rams and Joe Flacco (BAL) vs. Pittsburgh
