Samaje Perine (WAS)

The Washington Redskins running back situation was a confusing one before the injury to Robert Kelley. Adding that into the mix only muddles the situation even more. Samaje Perine might come out as the beneficiary.

Perine got most of the rushing attempts when Kelley went down in Week 2, but wasn’t as effective as the Redskins could’ve wanted. Instead, they turned to a passing game and fellow receiving running back Chris Thompson had a much better game.

However, if the Redskins want to win, they need to stay balanced on offense. Without Kelley, Perine is how they do that. He will have to perform much better in the first start of his career this weekend then he did in relief of Kelley Week 2. I believe he can.

Perine is owned in 13.9 percent of ESPN leagues and if Robert Kelley officially can’t go, he will be the starter. The starting running back on a good offense is worth a flyer add off the waiver wire for any fantasy football team.
