On one hand, the 49ers got a steal of a pass-rusher in Round 5 of the 2014 NFL Draft, selecting former South Florida EDGE Aaron Lynch.

But on the other, Lynch has emerged as one of the more frustrating defenders within San Francisco’s defense. His six sacks in 2014 suggested the Niners had a true talent — a gem of a find in the later rounds.

And Lynch surpassed those efforts with 6.5 sacks the following year.

Unfortunately, injuries and weight issues have relegated Lynch to being another one of those talented-yet-underachieving players likely capable of so much more on the field.

If the talent were to outshine the concerns, there’s no doubt Lynch would be much higher on this list.
