No. 1: Wide Receiver Kendrick Bourne

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was one of the bigger offensive standouts for the 49ers during their preseason victory over the Chiefs.

Bourne hauled in four catches for 88 yards, including this 46-yard touchdown reception from rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard in the fourth quarter:

Granted, Bourne’s defender fell down on the play, all but assuring the undrafted free agent would haul in the catch.

Yet the subsequent two-point attempt showed where Bourne wins:

Bourne effectively used his 6-foot-1, 203-pound frame to outmuscle the defender on this fade route, hauling in the pass for a successful conversion.

Size is a good attribute for an otherwise short Niners receiving corps.

There’s no guarantee Bourne makes the final cut. But he might be the best option San Francisco has to round out the roster at this position.
