NFL power rankings: League-wide look for each team as preseason starts

27. team. 13. . . . Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers made the exact moves they needed to in the NFL Draft this offseason — adding a true No. 1 wide receiver in Mike Williams and bringing in offensive guard Forrest Lamp.

And both those guys could be out for the season.

Lamp tore his ACL in training camp, so the ability to keep veteran quarterback Philip Rivers upright in 2017 will be strained.

Equally depressing, Williams’ back injury could sideline him his rookie year as well.

This puts a lot of pressure on veteran receiver Keenan Allen to be a top playmaker on offense.

Had the Chargers not endured these two crucial injuries, one would have expected them to climb a few spots. But we can’t change the past, so they stay low in our NFL power rankings ahead of the preseason.
