Jerry Rice, Wide Receiver

Career Stats with 49ers: 1,281 receptions, 19,247 receiving yards, 176 receiving TDs, 84 carries, 625 rushing yards, 10 rushing TDs

Well, duh.

How could there be a Mt. Rushmore of 49ers players without the greatest player of all time?

More from Niner Noise

Chances are, if you look up a wide receiver all-time record, Hall of Famer Jerry Rice either has it or did have it. And there are records Rice holds that will likely never be broken.

Those of us lucky enough to watch him play will never forget his efforts.

Rice’s impeccable work ethic led the way to one of the most storybook careers in sports history. There have been a number of great receivers before and since, but no one comes close to Rice’s impact.

So where would Rice go on Mt. Rushmore?

Considering the massive impact he had for both the team and the NFL, it only makes sense to put him at the forefront where President George Washington’s face looks on from the great monument.
