Los Angeles Rams

Can Sean McVay get something out of Jared Goff?

On the other side of Los Angeles, the Rams hope newly minted head coach Sean McVay can work the same kind of magic he did when coordinating the Washington Redskins offense the last three seasons.

Only this time, McVay is tasked with getting the most out of quarterback Jared Goff.

Goff, the No. 1 overall pick in the draft a year ago, looked nothing like a franchise-caliber quarterback his rookie season. He was indecisive, had poor mechanics and struggled with pocket presence after assuming starting duties in Week 10.

To the Rams’ credit, L.A. bolstered the weapons around him via this year’s NFL Draft.

Added to the fray was tight end Gerald Everett in Round 1, as well as wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Josh Reynolds in Rounds 3 and 4, respectively.

With McVay’s tutelage, and these added weapons, Goff’s second season will be one of intrigue.

Did the Rams make the mistake of mistakes moving up to grab him last year? Or will this investment be justified?
