Dallas Cowboys — Quarterback Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys enjoyed two prolific rookies on offense last season — running back Ezekiel Elliott and quarterback Dak Prescott.

Prescott gets the call as the Cowboys’ No. 1 player to watch this season because it’s going to be much more enticing to watch whether or not he’ll wind up going through any sort of second-year slump.

Elliott should be fine in 2017 and just as potent. But teams now have a good deal of film on Prescott. They’ll look to take away his best weapons and expose his weaknesses.

Another factor to consider here is Dallas overturned a great deal of its defense this offseason. This unit, especially the secondary, is very young and untested.

In all likelihood, this will put more pressure on Prescott to meet, or exceed, expectations in 2017.

Can he live up to the challenge or will we see some sort of regression?

This will be the topic for the Cowboys early this year.
