Loser: Wide Receiver Bruce Ellington

Wide receiver Bruce Ellington is likely already on the fringe of the roster heading into this season, especially after missing all of 2016 with a hamstring issue.

According to various reports, Ellington wasn’t able to participate in drills as he’s dealing with a minor injury yet again.

And the sarcasm is clearly evident in Niners Wire’s Jerod Brown’s response:

Ellington has already lost out to fellow slot receiver Jeremy Kerley, who was a notable contributor in the former’s stead last season. And with rookie wideout Trent Taylor making an impact, the chances of Ellington sticking around on the roster beyond the preseason are slight at best.

Further absences don’t do any good for his dwindling stock.
