Who is Jimmie Ward’s backup at free safety? Right now it would have to be undrafted free agent Lorenzo Jerome.

Eric Reid has the athleticism to flourish at strong safety and should relish hitting people down in the box, but he is entering the last year of his contract.

We’re still not sure what Jaquiski Tartt’s best position is, and the 49ers would be well served to address the safety spot next offseason.
