Key NFL Draft Additions: QB Deshaun Watson, OLB Zach Cunningham

The Houston Texans don’t move in our NFL power rankings, because they’re essentially in the same position as the last time around — a talented defense with offensive weapons and in need of a true starting quarterback.

Houston reached a lot in order to trade up to land Clemson QB Deshaun Watson. Sure, Watson has won at every level and continuously proven doubters wrong. But will those attributes — the same which were said of former NFL QB Vince Young — translate over to the NFL?

In short, the Texans were desperate. They’re in win-now mode, which helps us make sense of the move. It doesn’t mean the trade and subsequent pick aren’t gambles though.

Linebacker Zach Cunningham was a nice pickup, but this draft is going to be all about Watson. If he doesn’t deliver, the ramifications will be huge.
