Carolina Panthers. 18. team. 87. . 6-10.

Key NFL Draft Additions: RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Curtis Samuel, EDGE Daeshon Hall

The Carolina Panthers needed to get quarterback Cam Newton some more offensive weapons, and that’s exactly what general manager Dave Gettleman did.

Bringing in running back Christian McCaffrey at No. 8 might be a slight reach, but he’s an excellent fit in offensive coordinator Mike Shula’s complex offense. Shula should have no trouble utilizing McCaffrey’s dynamic skill set, even if the former Stanford standout isn’t an every-down tailback.

Wide receiver Curtis Samuel was a nice pickup for the slot as well.

The Panthers pass rush should get some help with EDGE Daeshon Hall, although the secondary could still be a question mark this season.

Still, this is a nice NFL power rankings jump for a team that was in the Super Bowl two seasons ago.
