Key NFL Draft Additions: WR John Ross, RB Joe Mixon, EDGE Jordan Willis, EDGE Carl Lawson

The Cincinnati Bengals employed the high-risk-high-reward theory in their 2017 NFL Draft approach.

On paper, the investments could pay off big. This explains the large jump in our NFL power rankings.

Wide receiver John Ross is fast as anything. But he has injury concerns. And running back Joe Mixon’s checkered past — putting it lightly — is a major worry. Yet if Mixon’s red flags remain in the past, there’s no doubt the Bengals landed a premier runner.

Even if they’re willing to accept the fallout.

Edge rushers Jordan Willis and Carl Lawson should help an anemic pass rush as well. Willis is the better of the two, and he should be fun to watch this season.
