Round 4, Pick No. 109

42. . Running Back. Toledo. Kareem Hunt. 109. player

The 49ers finally address the offensive side of the ball, taking a running back out of Toledo. This was hinted to on Niner Noise’s Quest For Six Podcast, but there’s a strong possibility that Hunt could be the pick here.

Shanahan and Turner have strongly advocated for taking a running back later in the draft and developing him. Hunt could be one of the more exciting options in this deep running back class.

The 49ers have done some work on Hunt, meeting with him at the combine, scouting him at his Pro Day and also hosting him for an official visit.

Round 4, Pick 143

Quarterback. Pittsburgh. Nathan Peterman. 143. player. 42.

San Francisco will address the quarterback position, by adding developmental prospect, Nathan Peterman from Pittsburgh.

It’s not sure what the future holds for the quarterback position in San Francisco. Quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley are likely bridge options, so the 49ers should definitely consider adding a prospect in this draft.

With the top four quarterbacks, Mitchell Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes and DeShone Kizer likely gone in the first 50 picks, the 49ers will have to select a developmental player here.

According to ESPN’s Jon Gruden, Peterman might be the most pro-ready quarterback heading into the draft.

Although Niner Noise’s Nicholas McGee doesn’t think the 49ers should draft Peterman, I think they’ll pull the trigger on him here.
